Sports Recovery · For bodies that train, compete, or just refuse to sit still.
What is sports massage?
Sports massage is targeted bodywork for active people. It focuses on the muscles you use most, supports mobility, and helps you recover between workouts, races and games. We tailor every session to your sport, your schedule and where you are in your training.
Who Sports Recovery is for
- Runners, cyclists, lifters, tennis and pickleball players
- Anyone with an event on the calendar
- The week after a hard training block
- Easing back into activity after time off
- Weekend warriors who feel Monday in their hamstrings
What to expect in your Sports Recovery session
We start with your training, your event dates and what feels tight. Before an event, the work is lighter and brisk to keep you loose. After, it’s slower and focused on recovery. Expect a mix of deep work, stretching and targeted techniques to address overworked muscles. Sessions run 60 or 90 minutes.
Why sports massage at Embodied Healing Center
We look at the whole chain, not just the sore spot, because a tight calf can start at the hip or the ankle. And because we understand the nervous system, we know when to push and when recovery means backing off.
Pairs well with
- Deep Relief: for long-held tension between training blocks
- Advanced Integrative Therapies: for cupping, gua sha and assisted stretching
- Gentle Chiropractic: to keep structure and soft tissue working together
Sports Recovery FAQ
Should I get a sports massage before or after an event?
Both help, in different ways. Before: a lighter session 2–3 days out. After: a recovery session a day or two later, once the soreness settles.
How is sports massage different from deep tissue?
Sports massage is built around your training and goals; deep tissue targets chronic tension. Many sessions blend both.
How often should I get a sports massage while training?
Many athletes book every 2–4 weeks during heavy training, plus sessions around key events.
Can I come in if I am injured?
For a new or serious injury, get checked by your doctor first. Once cleared, sports massage can be part of getting back to it. Recovering from an injury? We’ll work with your current health.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. We don’t accept insurance, but we do accept HSA and FSA cards.
